After rounds in Portimão, Estoril, and Valencia, the Porsche Sprint Challenge Southern Europe 2025 is heading for its grand finale on March 1st in Barcelona. Dutch driver Flynt Schuring (Schumacher CLRT) and Belgian competitor Philippe Wils (Proton Huber Competition) currently lead the standings in the Sport and Club Division, respectively. However, with the final races still to come, the overall titles remain undecided.
One champion has already been crowned: Chester Kieffer (Schumacher CLRT) has secured the Rookie title in the Sport Division after an impressive campaign filled with standout performances.
“68 Drivers from 25 Countries”
“We’re already heading into the championship finale—it’s incredible how quickly the last few weeks have flown by,” says Lars Plato, Series Manager of the Porsche Sprint Challenge Southern Europe. “Now is the perfect time to reflect on what has been a fantastic season, and we are already confident that next winter, we can take another step forward. So far, we’ve welcomed 68 drivers from 25 different countries, which is an outstanding achievement. While many of them hail from Europe, we have also seen competitors from North America and India, highlighting the truly international appeal of our series. This global reach is exactly what we strive for. Our strong international presence has been reflected in the grid sizes, with an average of 50 cars per event—specifically, 27 in the Sport Division and 23 in the Club Division.”
A Title Fight That Will Go Down to the Wire
In the Sport Division, Schuring holds a 16-point lead over Ariel Levi (Team GP Elite) after three of the four race weekends. Rookie champion Chester Kieffer currently sits third in the standings, but with a highly competitive field, ten other drivers still have a mathematical chance of securing a spot on the overall podium.
“Expect plenty of drama in Barcelona,” Plato continues. “The only title that has already been awarded is the Rookie championship in the Sport Division, and Chester Kieffer embodies what this series is all about. The Porsche Sprint Challenge Southern Europe is designed to help young talent flourish, and once again, we’ve achieved that goal this season.”
Meanwhile, the battle for the PRO-AM title will be an intense showdown between Henri Tuomaala (Koiranen) and Anthony Imperato (Ombra Racing).
In the Club Division, Philippe Wils heads to Barcelona in pole position for the title fight, but the reigning Porsche Sprint Challenge Benelux champion will have to fend off Angelo Fontana (EST1 Racing), who remains determined to challenge for glory.
In the GT4 Championship, Patrick Cunha (Veloso Motorsport) currently leads the standings, but like all contenders, he will have to fight until the very last lap to secure the title.
Final Showdown in Barcelona
The decisive round of the Porsche Sprint Challenge Southern Europe 2025 will take place in Barcelona on February 28 and March 1. With multiple titles still up for grabs, the championship finale promises to deliver thrilling battles and edge-of-the- seat action.
